Improving Epilepsy Awareness and Access to Care in Africa: Dr Phyllis Kimani on KBC NewsCheck

Dr Phyllis Kimani, MPharm, featured on KBC NewsCheck alongside Nicholas Otieno Okayo from KAWE to discuss epilepsy awareness and access to care in Africa.

NeuroReach Africa is honoured to announce that Dr Phyllis Kimani, MPharm, Founder of NeuroReach Africa, will be a featured guest on KBC NewsCheck, hosted by Ben Troy Njue.

The discussion, titled "Improving Epilepsy Awareness and Access to Care in Africa," brings together Dr Kimani and Nicholas Otieno Okayo, Clinical Epileptologist at KAWE, for a timely conversation on the realities of epilepsy care across the continent.

The programme will air on Tuesday 11 August 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM EAT on KBC. Viewers can join the conversation and help amplify a message of awareness, inclusion and access.

At NeuroReach Africa, we believe that breaking stigma and closing the epilepsy treatment gap begins with open dialogue. Every interview, every article and every community conversation helps replace fear with facts and isolation with support.

We are grateful to KBC and the NewsCheck team for providing a national platform to share this important message, and to KAWE for partnering in the work to improve epilepsy care in Kenya and beyond.

Tune in, share and help us bring epilepsy awareness into every home.
