KEMRI SERU Approval Granted: A Major Milestone for Our Innovation in Epilepsy Support Research

🚨 This is big. NeuroReach Africa has reached another milestone: our research on Innovation in Epilepsy Support has officially received approval from the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) Scientific and Ethics Review Unit (SERU), granted on 9th September 2026.

KEMRI SERU is one of the most rigorous scientific and ethics review bodies on the continent. This approval means our study design, our safeguarding of participants and our use of digital tools have all been independently reviewed and cleared to national research standards. It is a powerful validation of a community-driven, multidisciplinary approach built with patients, caregivers and health workers of every cadre.

This is a step closer to transforming epilepsy support, empowering caregivers and exploring innovative solutions for African communities — and it lays the groundwork for evidence that can travel well beyond Kenya.
