What a morning in Kikuyu!
Today the NeuroReach Africa team trained Community Health Promoters and Volunteers on epilepsy: what it is, what it is not, and the four words that can save a life.
Stay. Safe. Side. Saidia.
They are now our Epilepsy Champions and head into households across the sub-county this week, finding people living with untreated epilepsy and connecting them to care.
Asante sana to the Kenya Association for the Welfare of People with Epilepsy (KAWE) for leading today’s clinical teaching, to Kiambu County Government and to the Department of Health Kiambu County for walking with us every step of the way.
This is what it looks like when a programme works through the county's own community health structure.
Research. Innovation. Impact.
