What if a Storybook Could Become School Policy? A Conversation at the Ministry of Health

What if a storybook could become a school policy?
A child has a seizure in class. Usually there is no plan, no trained teacher, no agreed response. The child gets sent home. Sometimes for good.
Four words could change that: Stay. Safe. Side. Saidia.
Stay with the child. Keep the area safe. Turn them on their side. Saidia, call for help.
The same four words our children already know from the story. The teacher learns it. The class learns it. Nobody is afraid of the child on the floor.
On 11 August 2026, I sat down with PS for Public Health Ms Mary Muthoni and PSK President Dr Wairimu Mbogo to talk about epilepsy stigma, seizure first aid, and what could be done at school level.
A good conversation.
Research. Innovation. Impact.
