💜📖 Every child has a story — and every brain tells it differently.

We are thrilled to announce that the next book in the NeuroReach Friends Series is on its way! Following The Day the Purple Kite Flew, My Friend Amani and Sam Is Still Sam, our next children's book will help explain neurodiversity to children in a simple, positive and relatable way.

When children understand how brains can be different — and that different is not less — communities become kinder. A child who understands their own mind can ask for help with confidence. A classmate who understands can choose friendship instead of fear.

The need is real. In Kenya, 54% of children with epilepsy have been found to have neurobehavioral comorbidities. Around 1 in 4 to 3 in 10 children with epilepsy have ADHD. Autism prevalence among children with epilepsy falls between about 1 in 16 and 1 in 5, depending on the population studied and how autism is assessed. And around half have neurodevelopmental impairment in recent population-based data.

Behind every one of those numbers is a child who deserves to be understood — not labelled, not hidden, not left behind.

As with every book in the Friends Series, this story will be clinically reviewed by experts and grounded in warm, human storytelling that children recognise and trust. Because when children understand, stigma has nowhere to grow.
